This week we had some fun and learned about Thanksgiving. Here is an activity we did that required planning, building, testing, group work, and perseverance. I thought this challenge might be too easy for the kiddos, but it really was a challenge! They had to build a table out of dominoes and Popsicle sticks. The table had to fit all of the Thanksgiving food. We talked about table legs, tops and how tables are supported. Here are some pictures! Have a great Thanksgiving!

We were busy today in First Grade getting ready for Veteran's Day. Here we are making some hats to wear to the program tomorrow.
Tomorrow, November 11th, we will celebrate Veteran’s Day. We will be starting our day by thanking local veterans at an assembly put on by our school. In order to show our thanks please have your child dress in red, white and blue.

Over the last few days we have been learning about the president's job and the election process. The students got to vote today on if we should take a walk in the morning or the afternoon. Not only did we learn about the voting process, we also learned about A.M. and P.M. and tally marks. Here are some pictures of us by our voting booths and putting our ballots in the ballot box.

Today we started learning about elections. We read some books, read a Scholastic News Magazine and created campaign posters for ourselves. Here the kids are holding up their campaign posters. Next week we will learn more about presidents and elections. We will even have our own election complete with ballots, a ballot box, and voter stickers.
**Monday there is a PTO meeting in the school library at 5:30. Our classroom earns $5 for every parent that participates. Please consider coming.
