Group Challenge and Special Visitors

Last week we did a group challenge where the students had to create a pollinator that would transfer pollen to a flower. We also had visitors from First National Banks. Our guests taught us about wants and needs. Sorry for the delayed post. We had some technical difficulties this week. Have a great weekend!

Working Hard on a Wednesday

Today the students read a Scholastic Magazine. After their reading, they identified and wrote down the main idea and details of the article. The article was on living and nonliving things.
This afternoon we did our math stations. I've include some pictures of the kids working. Mrs. Keller comes into our room on Wednesdays to run an ipad station. The kids are working on counting coins with her.

Guest Reader

Last Friday we were joined by a guest reader from the high school. She told the kids about the National Honor Society in which she's a member. She read a fun Dr. Seuss book to us also. We enjoyed the visit!

President's Day Project

Today we had the pleasure of joining Mrs. Backey for a fun project. The students studied pennies from different decades. We learned about the pictures and the words on the penny. Next the students sorted the pennies by decade. We discussed the oldest pennies and the newest pennies. The students found it funny to learn which decade the teachers were born in 😄 Each student graphed their data. Throughout our work we noticed some pennies were so dirty and discolored they were hard to read. Then the students started to conduct an experiment to see which cleaner will clean the pennies the best. We will have results of our experiment later this week.

The Students also learned a secret of mine on Friday!
